Since 2014, KC Bier Co. has pursued a simple mission: to brew authentic-tasting German-style bier with the same character, flavor and freshness as the bier brewed and consumed in Germany. To produce authentic flavor, we import malt and hops from Germany, employ yeast from a monastery brewery in Bavaria, use traditional brewing methods like decoction, and clarify and condition our bier through weeks of cold lagering. To protect freshness, our bier is unpasteurized, unfiltered and naturally carbonated.
In five years, we’ve grown to become Kansas City’s largest locally-owned brewery, and now distribute our year-round, seasonal and specialty German-style lagers and ales in the western 1/3 of Missouri and nearly statewide in Kansas.
Our commitment to using imported ingredients and time-honored brewing methods for authentic flavor has been recognized with medals at multiple national and international competitions, including the World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival, in addition to high critics’ scores from multiple beer magazines.
Attached to our brewery are a family-friendly, traditional German-style Bierhalle and Biergarten, where one can enjoy smoked bratwurst, Bavarian pretzels, traditional German sausage and cheese boards and other Bavarian-style fare that complement our bier.
